Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is now available for the Nintendo 3DS.  Originally launched on the Playstation 2 in 2005, the remastered port makes its way to Nintendo’s portable device.  With upgraded visuals as well as new dungeons to get lost in, more evil bosses, notable items, puzzles and quests, never-before-seen scenes, and possibly new ending, Dragon Quest fans will be able to indulge in the classic game once again!

The opening cutscene in the trailer seems to be a throwback to The Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy as Princess Medea is face to face with the court jester Dhoulmagus as he puts a curse upon the land, causing King Trode and his daughter Medea to transform into a troll and a horse.  While the rest of the civilians turn into plants.  Players take on the role of the hero, a young royal guard, in order to bring the land back to its former state.  With the help of his companions, Yangus a bandit,  Jessica a mage, Angelo a noble knight set out to his avenge his people, it is the Hero’s duty to overthrow Dhoulmagus and his hooligans.

In the 3DS version, players can recruit new members like Red the pirate, and Morrie the passionate fighter who were previously unavailable to play in game.  Galloping on the back of a four-legged creature, sailing on the raging seas by boat and soaring through the skies, players can also tame monsters captured in the battlefield to assist players, as well as in the new Monster Arena.

Packed with Players can embark on this epic quest to rescue both the King and princess from the terrible curse plaguing the land.  Allowing both veterans and newcomers alike to experience this classic tale developed by Level-5 and published by Square Enix.
