August 15, just one week from today, will see the digital release of Undertale on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Toby Fox, the game’s creator, has been adamant in explaining that there will be almost no differences between the PlayStation versions and the original PC version of the game. The game will be available in Japanese upon its PlayStation release, so that’s new, and of course there will be a few PlayStation trophies, but otherwise, fans should expect pretty much the same game. Well, except for one more thing.
It was recently announced on the official PlayStation blog that one of the issues in porting Undertale to PlayStation systems was the fact that the game is originally in a 4×3 resolution, whereas most TVs these days are 16×9. To fill in the empty space, Temmie Chang, one of the game’s artists, returned to make some neat borders for the game. Players will be given the option between four border styles: Sepia, Dynamic, Simple and no border at all. Sepia is a sepia-tone floral design, Dynamic changes the border depending on which area of the game you are in and Simple is just a white border around the screen.
