Bandai Namco and Level-5 have shared a new behind the scenes trailer of Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, focused on the animation and the concepts of the story. Some of the top members of the team discuss how the game is played from the perspective of two protagonists: a child and an adult, which gives the narrative an innocent vibe while also being perfectly enjoyable by a mature audience.
The cel-shaded visual style plays an essential part in giving the game a feeling of warmth and reinforce the immersion in this world with strong bonds with animated productions. In the video, the director and art director discuss the creation of the city of Goldpaw, which is based on Taiwan and stands out from the rest of the world for featuring a large casino. The design of the city and the characters themselves help to construct both the glamorous and the dark side of gambling.
The release of the game was sadly pushed back again to March 2018, in order to make sure that the title meets high-quality standards. And while games often suffer when they get several delays, Ni no Kuni II promises to offer such a unique experience that fans seem to be fine with waiting a couple of more months in order to receive the best product possible.
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom launches on March 23 for PS4 and PC. Watch the new video below.
