Darkest Dungeon has finally got an official release date for the Nintendo Switch. The game will arrive on the Nintendo eShop on January 18th. The downloadable content that’s already available on other platforms, The Crimson Court and The Shieldbreaker, will launch simultaneously on the marketplace.
The base game will cost $24.99, The Crimson Court DLC will cost $9.99, while The Shieldbreaker DLC will cost $3.99. The game will launch on all of Nintendo America and Nintendo Europe territories as a digital purchase via eShop.
The developers have also answered a couple of questions about the Switch version of Darkest Dungeon. The game will support touch controls on the console, and the upcoming downloadable content “The Color of Madness” will also arrive on the platform.
As for the downloadable content, there’s no release date timetable for that yet.
Darkest Dungeon launched on PC in 2016 to positive reviews. It later moved on to the PlayStation Vita, iPad, and now Nintendo Switch. There are currently no plans for an Android version of the game.
Darkest Dungeon is a mixture of movement and turn-based combat where players manage a roster of heroes to explore dungeons. This roster of characters’ stress levels must be managed, as well as different afflictions that can hinder or enhance their abilities. Players can return to a hub world where they can utilize different facilities in the town that allow them to recruit new heroes, manage afflictions, buy and sell equipment and more.
