Square Enix is taking a radio silence approach to Final Fantasy VII Remake, only giving short answers when directly asked about it or simply letting other projects take the spotlight while there are no relevant news to share. However, the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Exhibition in Tokyo has been the perfect occasion to unveil some brand new artwork recreating some of the most emblematic locations from the early stages in the game.

As you can see in the pictures, some of the places include the church where Cloud meets Aerith for the first time, Aerith house in the suburbs, and even the top of the Sector 5 pillar that is attacked by Shinra. You can appreciate how the scope of those locations seem bigger in these images compared to the static backgrounds from the original game, as the Remake will allow for a more detailed exploration of each place. Along with the locations, there can also be seen artwork for some of the members of the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE, including Biggs, Wedge, and Jesse.

The Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Exhibition can be visited by the general public at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo from January 22 to February 28. Other important pieces of artwork includes portraits of Tidus and Yuna from a point in the story post-Final Fantasy X-2, pictured by Famitsu. Check out the rest of the Final Fantasy VII Remake art pieces below, thanks to Twitter user junshen.
