Lionhead Studios, developer of Fable is currently working on a new game in the franchise according to recent rumors regarding Fable 4. It’s said that the company is shooting for 2013 release date for a controller-based sequel and that it will be completely controller based unlike the recently announced Fable: The Journey which is expected sometime in 2012.

Following the departure of Peter Molyneux who has long been the shepherd of the franchise, it will be interesting to see what Microsoft will do to revitalize the franchise for Fable 4. A 2013 release for the adventure RPG could put this next Fable game into next-generation territory as well. Though no announcement have been made about Fable 4 at this time, if the rumors turn out to be true, Microsoft could be readying a reveal sometime in early 2013.

If true this puts Fable 4 coming out just after the recently announced Kinect centric motion based title by the developer that was announced at E3 2011.
