PlayStation Celebrates International Women’s Day 2019 With New PS4 Theme

For last year’s International Women’s Day, a new PS4 Theme was made available that featured six female protagonists from PlayStation-exclusive games. This year, Sony seems to be making this a tradition by offering another free Theme for the holiday, this time featuring even more fan-favorite characters.

International Women’s Day is March 8, and in time zones where the day is already being celebrated, PlayStation 4 players can now pick up the International Women’s Day 2019 Dynamic Theme for free from the PlayStation Store. This year, the characters included in the Theme are Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, Ellie from The Last of Us (though, as with last year’s theme, Ellie’s appearance here takes on her design from the upcoming The Last of Us Part II), Kara from Detroit: Become Human, Chloe and Nadine from the Uncharted series, both of whom starred in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Atoi from Tearaway, Freya from God of War (2018), Sackgirl from LittleBigPlanet, Lady Maria from Bloodborne, and Kat from Gravity Rush, as well as some imps from the upcoming Dreams. The Theme, which was made by Guerrilla Games Concept Artist Choro Choi, features all these female protagonists gaming with each other.

This theme is currently available in the European and Australian PlayStation Stores, and will likely hit the United States PlayStation Store tomorrow, when it will actually be International Women’s Day here.
