Power Rangers was acquired last year by Hasbro and they are doing a good job at promoting the brand so far. With a new toy line set to arrive soon for the recently premiered Power Rangers Beast Morphers, which is quite good so far, as well as the popular ongoing comic series, Hasbro is certainly not just sitting on the property. This is also extending to video games with Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid, which is coming even sooner than we thought.
First thought to just be an enhanced port of the mobile only Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid is actually a brand new game that was built from the ground up. Instead of using cards, this one is an actual fighting game with a roster that spans multiple different generations of Power Rangers, with more coming as DLC after release.
Publisher and developer nWay revealed on Twitter that Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid will be coming out in just a few days, though two platforms are getting a jump on the action. The game will release this Tuesday, March 26th for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, while the PS4 release won’t be coming until a week later on April 2nd. In addition, the previously announced PC version will not be coming until sometime this summer.
We are not sure why the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One versions are getting the one week ahead release compared to PS4, especially since the PS4 version is releasing in Europe on March 28th. Regardless of the reason, those on PS4 won’t have to wait too long, unlike those on PC.
Look for Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid to launch this Tuesday, March 26th for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, with it coming a week later on April 2nd for PS4.
