The first reports have surfaced that Sony is already working on the first games for the anticipated PlayStation 4. Â Develop Online suggests that “several” projects have begun at Sony first party studios and are likely still in the concept development state. Â It’s hard to imagine that these projects are much more than pipe dreams at this point, considering that it’s unclear what the tech in the phantom console will be capable of.
What isn’t a surprise is that they would be starting to work on these upcoming consoles. Â With a recently rumored 2013 release window for the next Xbox, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to think that Sony won’t let Microsoft beat them to the punch in the next generation.
When will we hear more about these new systems? Â Probably when they begin production in China, and are leaked by an underpaid factory worker.
