A number of upcoming games were revealed during Microsoft’s recent Xbox E3 2019 briefing, including the reveal of some indie games. One such indie game reveal was for Spiritfarer, a game about transporting the spirits of the deceased.

Spiritfarer was revealed during the Xbox E3 briefing, but will also be available for PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Mac, and Linux when it launches sometime next year. In the game, the player will take control of Stella, a ferrymaster who runs a ferry for spirits. Using management gameplay, the player will farm, fish, and cook for the spirits, as well as building up the ferry that Stella uses. The game will also allow for two-player co-op gameplay, with the second player taking control of Stella’s cat, Daffodil. As Stella’s journey progresses, she’ll take care of the spirits under her care and eventually have to learn how to say goodbye to them as they eventually leave permanently for the afterlife.

The game is being developed by Thunder Lotus Games, who have previously worked on Sundered and JotunSpiritfarer is currently slated for a 2020 release and you can currently wishlist it on Steam. You can watch the game’s announcement trailer that debuted during the Xbox E3 presentation below.
