Verizon has revealed that its internet TV service known as FiOS will launch on the Xbox 360 next month. Â The service will include 26 channels, and will cost $89.99 per month. Â Since you’ll need an Xbox Live Gold account to access the FiOS content, subscribers will see a handful of bonuses when signing up for the pricey streaming service.
For your $89.99 monthly fee, you’ll get a 12-month Xbox Live Gold Membership, a copy of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, and of course, access to suite of services from Verizon. Â The service is advertised to be completely compatible with Microsoft’s Kinect.
New customers that sign-up online will get a special “triple play” offer that includes FiOS TV, FiOS 35/35 Mbps Internet Service, and Verizon Voice, as well as the XBL Gold and Halo title. Â FiOS TV customers will have access to an app on the Xbox 360 dashboard which will act as a set top box for content. Â The announcement also reveals that “initially” 26 channels will be available, indicating that more could be on the way.
