Verizon FiOS Announced for Xbox 360

Verizon has revealed that its internet TV service known as FiOS will launch on the Xbox 360 next month.  The service will include 26 channels, and will cost $89.99 per month.  Since you’ll need an Xbox Live Gold account to access the FiOS content, subscribers will see a handful of bonuses when signing up for the pricey streaming service.

For your $89.99 monthly fee, you’ll get a 12-month Xbox Live Gold Membership, a copy of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, and of course, access to suite of services from Verizon.  The service is advertised to be completely compatible with Microsoft’s Kinect.

New customers that sign-up online will get a special “triple play” offer that includes FiOS TV, FiOS 35/35 Mbps Internet Service, and Verizon Voice, as well as the XBL Gold and Halo title.  FiOS TV customers will have access to an app on the Xbox 360 dashboard which will act as a set top box for content.  The announcement also reveals that “initially” 26 channels will be available, indicating that more could be on the way.
