This year the annual celebration of all things Blizzard will take a breather.  The company who is hard at work on upcoming Blizzard releases, Mists of Pandaria, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, Diablo III, and unannounced MMO codenamed Titan, will instead be focusing on getting these games to market.

The company will be hosting a Battle.net World Championship in 2012.  Held in Asia, the StarCraft II and World of Warcraft Arena World Championships will take the place of BlizzCon, this year at least.

The developer did say that BlizzCon will return in 2013, but no specifics were given in the release.
