Dragon Ball Super Episode 10 Review: Battle of the Gods

Dragon Ball Super episode 10 finally kicked off and it is arguably the best of the season so far. This episode was full of thrilling action from beginning to end.

You can say the last few episodes were full of filler content that dragged on and on. Episode 9 was full of 10 minutes of Goku just becoming a Super Saiyan God. Episode 10 got rid of the fluff and went straight to the action.

It was just Beerus vs Super Saiyan God Goku from the get go. It is similar to episode 5, although the animation was far better here. Episode 10 didn’t have the shoddy animation that previous episodes had so that’s a good thing.

At the start of this Dragon Ball Super episode, Goku is still trying to get used to his new powers. He’s not used to this new form. Whis also informs the others that they cannot sense the Ki from a God. They cannot sense power levels from Gods which is quite interesting.

There’s not much else to say about the fight other than it was awesome. We got to see Goku pull off a Kamehameha wave on Beerus, although Beerus didn’t seem to flinch. Goku also got to flick Beerus’ head and leave a little bruise on him on more than one occasion.

The only humorous part of the episode is that Pilaf and his gang hang out with Whis to eat some food. I don’t recall this being in Battle of Gods, so this was a nice touch to the episode. The other Z fighters didn’t do much other than look on and observe the fight. Bulma took the others on a ship to see the action since Goku and Beerus were fighting high up in the skies.

Episode 10 of Dragon Ball Super was more of a feeling out process between Goku and Beerus. Both characters admitted that they are not fighting to their full potential yet. The episode ended with them staring at one another teasing that they will go full power on the next episode.

Overall, I thought this episode was the best of Dragon Ball Super so far. There was a lack of filler fluff that had been present in the last few episodes. In my opinion, I also felt the animation was solid throughout. I don’t remember seeing any horrid illustrations like in episode 5.

Hopefully this type of quality keeps up for the episodes to come. It sounds like the fight between Goku and Beerus will be lasting for another two more episodes. Stay tuned at AttackoftheFanboy as we review each episode every week.
