Killing other players is pretty much the one and only goal in Apex Legends. Sure, you need to hunt down weapons, upgrade them, and survive the onslaught of other squads. But all of that is built on top of shooting other players in their face until they can’t try to kill you anymore. And it’s even better when you can take them out in style with one of Apex Legends’ “Finishers”. But how do you use them? Here’s how to do Finishers in Apex Legends.

Using Finishers is all about downing your opponent, but not totally eliminating them. This means you need to shoot them enough that they hit the ground, but aren’t out of the game. Their teammate can come and revive them in this state, so it’s a risky situation all around. You can choose to just shoot them some more, eliminating the risk entirely, but there’s no fun in that. You want to kill them with style, and that means using a Finisher.

How do you use a Finisher in Apex Legends? Easy, just down your opponent, then walk up to them. You should see a prompt telling you what button to press, which should be Square on PS4, X on Xbox One, and E on PC. Hitting it will make your characters use their trademark Finisher on them. This kills them with a somewhat long animation by your character, so only use it when you feel safe enough. It will take them completely out of the game, as long as their teammate doesn’t swing by and respawn them later on.

And that’s how to do Finishers in Apex Legends. What’s your favorite Finisher to pull off? Let us know in the comments.
