Back 4 Blood: Holly Guide

Recommended Videos

Holly is the dedicated melee class in Back 4 Blood. Her jubilant personality and unwavering positivity really brings out the brutal nature of her bludgeoning abilities against the Ridden.

What role does Holly play in Back 4 Blood?

Like mentioned above, she is a melee class. Her starter weapon is a spiked bat which she calls “Dottie”. It has decent range and can make mincemeat of the smaller fries that come in large hordes. Pair that with the fact that she has damage reduction and stamina regeneration abilities. She’s essentially a one woman army who is really tough to bring down. If you’re not in the front lines with her drawing significant aggro and pulverizing the Ridden, you might be doing something wrong.

Holly’s abilities

  • Holly gains back 10 stamina per Ridden kill
  • She gains 10% damage resistance
  • Team Effect: +25 Team Stamina

The best weapons to use for Holly

Any melee weapon works wonders for her, especially if you have cards that directly benefit a melee and close quarters type of playstyle. You’d want to use a machete and a bat if you want to use her to take out groups of weaker enemies. If you plan on using her to go against stronger threats, you might want to use a fire axe or hatchet.

For her other weapon slot, use either assault rifles, SMGs, or shotguns. Personally, I feel like shotguns work best for her. There is a specific defense card that gives shotguns lifesteal. Since she’s already up close and personal against the Ridden, shotguns make the most sense for her to have. Ideally, you’d want to only save her guns for enemies like Tallboys, Crushers, Bruisers, and so forth.
