Crossplay is a big deal when it comes to multiplayer games nowadays. With every new release that heavily emphasizes cooperative or competitive play, people always are wondering if their most anticipated titles will get that treatment. In terms of the new Evil Dead game, does it have crossplay? Here’s what we know.

Does Evil Dead: The Game Have Crossplay?

Fortunately, this game will have “full cross-play” with all consoles and PC, according to the official game’s Twitter page. This will definitely be met with good reception from people who have friends who prefer gaming on other consoles.

Since Evil Dead will basically be in direct competition with other heavy hitters like Dead by Daylight, it’ll be a strong start. There have been other asymmetrical-type survival games in the past that landed flat in terms of longevity for a multitude of reasons, but this should provide healthy competition, if anything, with the popular DBD.

As to getting started with crossplay, the details are yet to be known. There should be an easy way to add players from other consoles via a search bar or player code. If you want to get ahead to make sure everything is a go when the game comes out, you should make sure you have an active PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate/Gold membership if you’re on a console.

Since the game is not free-to-play, you will need the aforementioned subscriptions. As for PC, you’re mostly good to go until the launch of the game. Though, if you are a PC player, you may be discouraged to know that the game seems to be an Epic Games exclusive. Word on whether or not the game is a timed exclusive seems to be nonexistent.

Evil Dead: The Game is out on May 13, 2022, on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC via Epic Games Store.
