Mario Party Superstars is looking to be the better Mario Party on the Nintendo Switch. It’s the one to really reel the fans of new and especially old titles of the franchise. A Mario Party game that is basically the “greatest hits” should have everything that appeals to both the younger and older audiences— including characters.

We all have our fond memories picking a certain character. However, as this is essentially a “best of” game, the cast may see new additions or a lack thereof. Here are all the characters in Mario Party Superstars.

Every playable character in Mario Party Superstars

Right from the get go, there are a total of ten playable characters in the game. They are as follows:

  • Mario
  • Luigi
  • Peach
  • Daisy
  • Wario
  • Waluigi
  • Yoshi
  • Rosalina
  • Donkey Kong
  • Birdo

Mario-Party-Superstars-Roster

Compared to Super Mario Party, the characters in this game do not have stats or any sort of advantages over the other. They are all on the same playing field. It is also quite disappointing comparing the roster of Super Mario Party which had 20 characters compared to just 10 in Superstars.

While a lot of them are somewhat side characters or considered enemies in mainline Super Mario titles, it did liven up the roster and add personality to the many underlings of Bowser.
Previous Mario Party games had characters like Boo, Toadette, Hammer Bro, Blooper, Kamek, and Koopa Kid (or Bowser Jr. if you’re in the younger crowd). Hopefully they will be released as free DLC some ways down the line like Nintendo did with characters in Mario Golf: Super Rush.

While there are other character cameos in the game, a majority of them are present in some capacity whether in minigames or as NPCs in the boards or in the menus.
