Guardians of the Galaxy: How to Get Components and Craft Perks

Recommended Videos

Components are an important resource in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy that allow the player to craft Perks that positively alter Star-Lords gameplay or increase his power with passive boosts.

In this guide, we will detail exactly how to get Components in Guardians of the Galaxy and how to use them to craft unique Perks for Star-Lord.

How to Get Components in Guardians of the Galaxy

There are two types of Components in Guardians of the Galaxy: regular and advanced. Regular Components are tube-shaped, while advanced components are spherical.

Some Perks require just regular Components to craft, while others require both regular and advanced. Each Perk varies with its price and how expensive it is usually an indicator of how good the Perk is.

Large-Components

Components can be found throughout each Chapter of Guardians of the Galaxy, with the exception of flashback scenes, and can simply be picked up when you walk near them. They can be found on the floor in plain sight or hidden away behind crates and crevices and sometimes may even require a puzzle to be solved before you can reach them.

Advanced Components are rarer than regular Components and will require the most searching, however, you can sometimes come across large numbers of regular Components in hidden areas instead.

The best way to find Components is to explore every nook and cranny while adventuring, as well as wandering off the beaten path. Take notice of objects and see if you can find anywhere they might work, such as moving a crate to a ledge you wouldn’t ordinarily need to climb.

Even if you don’t find Components, you may find a costume instead, which is arguably even better. Exploration is definitely rewarded well in Guardians of the Galaxy.

How to Craft Perks in Guardians of the Galaxy

You will find Workbenches throughout Guardians of the Galaxy, including on the Milano, which allow you to Craft Perks for Star-Lord. Simply scroll up and down the list and choose the Perk you want to craft.

Looking to the right of the selected Perk will tell you how many of each Component you need to craft it. Some Perks don’t require any advanced Components but are usually provide less of a benefit. To find out which Perks to craft first, visit ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Best Perks to Unlock First‘.

Once a Perk has been crafted, it will be automatically applied to Star-Lord. If you’ve been regularly exploring, you will be able to craft the majority of Perks before completing the game, if not all of them.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Nintendo Switch and GeForce Now.
