How to Get Marshadow in Pokémon Sun and Moon

Recommended Videos

Starting today (October 9) and going through October 23, there is an event for the distribution of the Legendary Pokémon Marshadow for the games Pokémon Sun and Moon. This event is part of the marketing campaign to advertise Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, which Marshadow will have a part in.

In the United States, fans will be able to get a code for Marshadow at participating GameStop stores during the October 9-23 time period. Each code will be unique and only be able to be used once. Once you have received your code from GameStop, start up your Pokémon Sun or Moon game and when on the main menu, click “Mystery Gift” instead of “Continue.” Once in the Mystery Gift menu, click “Receive Gift” and then “Get with Code/Password.” When it asks you about connecting to the internet, click “Yes” and then “Yes” again. Next, you’ll be asked to enter a code. Enter the code you obtained from GameStop and you should see the Mystery Gift enter your game. Once this happens, quit Mystery Gift and Continue playing the game. Go to any Pokémon Center and talk to the delivery man, who will give you your Marshadow. Then save your game.

The Marshadow you get from this event will be level 50 and have the ability Technician, which makes moves with a base power of 60 or lower stronger by 50%. Marshadow is a Ghost/Fighting-type and will have the moves Spectral Thief, Close Combat, Force Palm and Shadow Ball. The Mystery Gift will also give you a Marshadium Z, which, when equipped to a Marshadow that knows Spectral Thief, allows it to use its Z-Move Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike, which is a Z-Move unique to Marshadow.
