Can Cacnea Be Shiny in Pokemon Go?

Yes, Cacnea can be shiny in Pokemon Go. Since Cacnea is appearing so frequently during the event, it’s a great time to secure a shiny version for yourself. The shiny chance itself won’t be changed during the event, but you’ll have a much higher chance to catch a shiny Cacnea since you’ll encounter so many during the hour.

During the Spotlight Hour, you will earn 2x Candy for each Pokemon you catch. That makes this a great way to build up your Candy reserves while also hunting for a shiny Cacnea.

Best Ways to Prepare for Cacnea Spotlight Hour

You’ll only have one hour to catch as many Cacnea as you can, so you’ll want to do as much preparation as possible before the event begins in your region. These are the best ways to be prepared for Cacnea Spotlight Hour in Pokemon Go.

  • Stock up on Poke Balls
  • Stock up on Berries
  • Make room in your Pokemon Storage Box
  • Purchase Incense or Lures

You don’t want to run out of Poke Balls or storage space during the event as every minute matters, so make sure you stock up on the appropriate items and clear your Pokemon Storage Box before the event starts. You can also use Incense or Lures to further increase the Cacnea spawn rate, which is a great way to earn tons of Candy. It’s also great for dedicated shiny hunters, as having more Cacnea encounters means you’re more likely to run into a shiny one eventually.
