The Barrier ability in Rage 2 is an invaluable tool in keeping you alive when fighting against many enemies.  This Nanotrite ability allows you to throw down a barricade that protects you from all enemy weapon fire when behind it.  Like the other abilities in Rage 2, the Barrier ability is found by finding the Ark that contains the power-up.  This guide will explain where you need to go to get the Barrier ability in Rage 2.

To get the Barrier ability you’re going to want to head to the Spikewind Ark.  This Ark is located in the Broken Tract Region of the game west of Gunbarrel.  If you’re having trouble tracking down the Spikewind Ark location you can use the map below to just head to the highlighted location.

The Barrier ability can be used by pressing the LB/L1 button to use Focus abilities and then pressing the B/Circle button to deploy the barricade.  It only lasts for a short amount of time, but the barricade can get you out of a jam if there multiple enemies attacking you at once and there’s no other cover around.  The Barrier ability lasts for 10 seconds by default, but can be upgraded to last for 12.5 seconds at level 2 and then maxed out at 15 seconds for level 3.  To upgrade the Barrier ability you can use Feltrite to unlock each level.
