Playing through Resident Evil 2, you’ll be firing off a lot of gunshots. Whether it’s your trusty pistol or a massive grenade launcher, the key to always being ready is knowing how to keep ammo in your gun. Reloading is an easy task in most games, but sometimes it’s tough to figure out along with all the other commands you need to memorize. To help out, here’s how to reload quickly in Resident Evil 2 Remake.
As usual, the easiest and best way to reload is tied to a single button. No matter what weapon you are using, just pressing X on Xbox One or Square on PS4 will reload your gun, assuming there is room for new bullets. Unfortunately, this is also the quickest way to reload in Resident Evil 2, as it is the only way to do it.
In past games there were some options in regards to reloading. You could often go into your inventory and combine your gun with the spare ammo tucked away in there. That’s not possible in Resident Evil 2 though. If you expend your Grenade Launcher ammo (meaning you’ve fired one shot, since that’s all it holds), you will need to re-equip it, most likely using your D-pad shortcuts, then press X/Square to pop another round in.
That’s how to reload quickly in Resident Evil 2. Sometimes there are more ways to do it, and you have choices, but this game is keeping your right in the action and out of the menu.
