Resident Evil 2 Remake: Where to Use Wooden Boards

Recommended Videos

One of the earliest items you receive in Resident Evil 2 is also one of the newest additions to the series. Wooden Boards are randomly strewn about the RPD and other locations, and players are left to decide for themselves how and where to use them. To help out, here’s where to use Wooden Boards in Resident Evil 2 Remake.

If you picked up a few sets of wooden boards and don’t quite know what to do with them or how, here’s a quick explanation. Wooden boards are used to board up windows, preventing more zombies from getting into the building. Not all windows need boards, only the ones that are susceptible to zombie attack. You’ll know right away if a window is like this, as a zombie will show up and start pounding on it whenever you are nearby.

To use the wooden boards you just need to have them in your inventory. You then walk up to whatever window you want to use them on and press A. Select the wooden boards and choose “use” and the window will immediately be boarded up, preventing any further zombies from getting through. Seems easy, right? Of course the real question is where to use wooden boards in RE2 Remake.

You see, you won’t get enough boards to block them all, so using them on a non-vital area is a bit of a waste. There are optimal locations, where lots of zombies will try to get in, and the player has to walk through the area often. Here’s my choices for where best to use wooden boards: The hall outside the Dark Room, the window just outside the East Office, most of the windows in the hallway outside the break room, and if you have extra, the window outside the Operations Room.

Boarding up these locations will maximize the number of zombies you keep out, and help clear areas you will use often. And that’s where to use wooden boards in Resident Evil 2 Remake.
