Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Guide: How To Switch To Your Pistol

You’ll have plenty of different weapons to choose from as you mow down the countless enemies facing you in Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, though some you’ll use more than others. You’ll have your sniper rifle equipped by default, though you can switch to your other weapon via the traditional triangle/y-button press. However, you won’t be able to access the game’s pistols by doing this, so we’ll show you how to do that.

In order to be able to equip any of the game’s pistols, you actually have to press the weapon swap button twice quickly. The double press is something that isn’t used in the majority of FPS games these days, so this can easily lead to some initial confusion for newcomers when it comes to figuring out how to actually equip pistols. This will allow you to engage in the game’s stealth gameplay, letting you sneak around areas more easily and take out enemies with your silenced pistol to avoid alerting others.

Pistols are linked to the game’s Ghost skill tree, and will largely be the weapon of choice for those who prefer more slow and methodical gameplay compared to all-out action. Nailing a shot to the head will typically bring down the average foe that is in your sights, though be aware that some enemies later on in the game will not go down with one shot. These enemies will appear heavily armored as a visual cue, so it’s best to avoid using the pistol against these enemies or just plugging them with a few bullets if you have no other options.

Of course, if you do want to switch back to your other weapons, then all you have to do is hit the change weapon button again and you’ll be back to the weapon you had equipped before switching to the pistol. It’s very easy once you get the hang of it, and comes in handy when you’re regularly switching between playstyles.
