Deep into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and its World of Light adventure mode is one of the tougher puzzles contained in a Smash game. That’s not a super high bar, since the fighting series doesn’t usually offer up puzzles to be solved. Yet here one sits, and the solution is actually a bit challenging to figure out. In case you’re not sure what the torch clock puzzle is, it’s in the city pictured above. You come upon this town that is surrounded and filled with torches. The only clue you get, before exploring the whole area, is that the torches correspond to the time on a clock. The inner ring is the hour, the outer ring is the minute hand. You know you need to match some pre-defined time, but what time? What torches do you light? How do you solve this thing?
The answer is found to the north of town where an owl statue will give you the time to set it to. Of course, there’s lots of Spirit battles in the way, so you may not make it there, or just want to solve it without all the hassle. If this is the case, just set the time on the torches to 12:10.
This means light the upper torch of the inner ring and the top right corner torch on the outer ring. Imagine an analog clock with the hour hand pointing up at 12 and the minute hand in the top right corner, though slightly more to the right for the 10 minute mark or the number 2.
There’s a second, even more hidden time you’ll want to set it to though. Skip this, if you want to avoid spoilers.
