V Rising Tannery Explained: How to Make Leather

As you begin your journey through the world of V Rising, you’ll need to make sure that you’re ready for anything. You’ll need to make sure you’ve got a place to stay, items that will help you build bigger and better castles, and ways to make it through the world quickly. You’ll also need to get your hands on some leather, which is a valuable crafting material that can be used in many different ways.

But, how do you get the Tannery, the crafting machine needed to start making your own leather? Let’s sink our teeth right into this one, and get into the nitty-gritty about how you’ll be able to get your tannery quickly in the game.

Tan Your Hides in V Rising

The first thing that you’ll need to do to get your hands on your very own tannery for your castle in V Rising is complete a few quests, with the main one being the “Expanding my Domain” mission, which tasks you to upgrade your Castle Heart. The Castle Heart is the main power of your castle, allowing you to run your machines with ease, and will make your life so much easier once it is upgraded a tad.

You’ll want to also make sure that you have crafted and completed a Blood Altar at this point, as well. You’ll be able to see the list of available bosses, which can grant you items, and different craftable machines to continue making your castle better than ever. You’ll want to track down Keely the Frost Archer, as she is going to be the main focus to get yourself a tannery. Once you have selected this boss, you’ll notice a blood trail that will take you near the Bandit Trapper Camp in the Farbane Woods.

Once you have gotten here, you’ll need to use your wits and strength to take Keely down and unlock the ability to create the tannery in your castle. To make this machine, you’ll need:

• Eight Planks
• 160 Animal Hides

You’ll be able to get planks by creating a Sawmill, and animal hides are found from slaying animals in the wild. Once you have gotten the required amount of items, you’ll be able to get the tannery set up in your castle! To create a piece of leather, you’ll need to gather 16 Animal Hides and place them in the Tannery, so get out into the world and start gathering all of the materials you need to get that leather.
