Pokemon Go is finally out in the US and a few other countries. Gamers are swarming around their neighborhoods looking for whatever creatures and items they can find. Once you’ve caught a few Pokemon you’ll probably start to wonder how you power up and evolve your little friends. This will bring you to candy, which is essential throughout multiple areas of Pokemon Go. So, here’s a quick guide on how to get candy in Pokemon Go.

There are actually a few methods to this, including just swinging by a Pokestop or two. It’s rare to get candy from one of these, but it’s worth a shot if they’re nearby. You can also get them by hatching Lucky Eggs, but this too is a bit random. So how do you guarantee you get candy in Pokemon Go?

For that you’ll essentially just want to catch every single Pokemon that you come across. Once you have some duplicates you want to send them to Professor Willow. This will give you a bit of candy, of course it is only for the individual type that you traded in. So if you want to power up a Bulbasaur then you need to catch and send in a few of them.

Once you have enough you are ready to power up your Pokemon. To do this you just have to select the individual character in the menu and choose Power Up or Evolve depending on what you want to do.

And that’s it. Candy will definitely be playing a big part in the game, so be sure to keep these things in mind as you play through Pokemon Go. But while candy is important there are still a lot more things in the game that you’ll need to worry about. Keep checking back for more guides on Pokemon Go as we get to dig in more.
