There were a lot of various announcements at Microsoft’s recent Xbox E3 briefing, including the reveals of some new games. One such new game reveal was for a game based off of the 1999 horror movie The Blair Witch Project.

The game, entitled simply Blair Witch, was revealed during the Xbox E3 presentation earlier today (June 9). The game will be a story-driven psychological horror game and is being developed by Bloober Team, who have previously worked on the Layers of Fear series. The story of the game takes place in 1996, not long after the events of the movie, when Ellis, a former police officer, searches the Black Hills Forest for a young boy that recently went missing. Throughout his search, Ellis will be forced to confront his troubled past, as well as the supernatural forces of the Blair Witch. In true Blair Witch fashion, a major part of the game seems to involve the use of a camcorder, though the exact involvement of this device isn’t entirely clear yet.

The game will be an Xbox console exclusive, as it will only be released on Xbox One and PC. The game is set for release in just a couple of months on August 30. You can watch the game’s creepy reveal trailer below.
