Electronic Arts and Activision have reached a settlement in their legal dispute over the popular Call of Duty video game franchise. As a result of the lawsuit between Activision and the creators of the first person shooter franchise, Electronic Arts found itself in the crosshairs of Activision’s legal team for courting the developers during their contractual employment with the company back in 2010.

The settlement removes Electronic Arts from a possible trial scenario where Activision would be seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages. According to a statement from the Activision legal team, “Activision and Electronic Arts have decided to put this matter behind them.”

The legal teams have declined to comment on the settlement terms that the companies have agreed to.
