Analyst Believes Xbox One Will Never Catch Up To PS4’s Sales

Famed gaming analyst, Michael Pachter is speaking his mind again. This time he feels there is no chance of the Xbox One catching up to the PS4’s huge sales figures.

Pachter spoke out on his opinion if the Xbox One could catch up to the PS4. He feels there’s nothing Microsoft can do to catch up.

His reasoning is because he feels more people know the PlayStation brand over the Xbox brand. He said Sony’s best ever selling console was the PS2 selling over 170 million units. Microsoft’s best selling console is the Xbox 360 with 80 million units. Therefore Sony has more brand awareness as millions more owned a previous console of theirs.

Pachter also said it’s “remarkable” that the Xbox One has remained steady with its sales compared to the PS4. He feels Microsoft has more of a chance to win the sales race in North America, but he feels there’s no chance it can beat the PS4 worldwide.

Microsoft has been trying hard to make the Xbox One more attractive this year. Backwards compatibility is a huge factor as well as games like Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider releasing this year.

Despite Microsoft’s efforts, the PS4 remains to be the most popular current-gen console worldwide.
