Games haven’t been selling that well in 2012, and the industry has been experiencing a slowdown due to what many attribute to the lengthy life cycle of current generation consoles. Â However, analysts believe that their is still significant demand for the Grand Theft Auto franchise, and GTA V will sell tens of millions of copies in its first 12 months.
EEDAR’s Jesse Divnich believes that no matter when Rockstar’s open world title is released and despite a softening market, the game will sell greatly.
“In the case of GTA V, I have little concerns about when it is released,” says Divnich in a recent interview. Â “Whether April, June, or even Winter, I’d expect GTA V to sell in upwards of 25 million copies in its first 12 months.”
The first real details are set to arrive later this month for GTA V, with a spring release window announced for the game just a short while ago as Rockstar began taking pre-orders for the game. Â Game Informer will see Rockstar’s latest as the cover story for their December issue of the magazine, and Rockstar is scheduled to release trailer #2 for GTA V in mid-November.
