Ubisoft is giving players the opportunity to get a little bit of an idea as to what making a game is like as they add a new mode to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey that will allow fans to create their own stories within the game.
Announced during the pre-show of Ubisoft’s recent E3 presentation, the new Story Creator Mode for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was revealed and is available now for all players of the game. In this new mode, players will be able to create their own scenarios for other players to play out. This involves writing your own dialogue, choosing which characters interact with each other and how those interactions go, and creating quests for your fellow players to embark upon. You can even go so far as to create branching dialogue trees and narrative paths so that different outcomes and consequences are possible. Essentially, you’ll be able to use the game’s characters and objectives to create your own Assassin’s Creed Odyssey fan-fiction within the realm of the actual game.
In order to access the Story Creator Mode, players will need an Ubisoft account, as well as access to a computer with which they will create their story, and, of course, a copy of the base game. You can watch the new mode’s trailer below.
