Ubisoft has just announced that the next expansion for their game Assassins Creed Odyssey will be releasing next Tuesday, April 23 across multiple platforms. Dubbed The Fate of Atlantis, the story will take Kassandra and Alexios to the fabled underwater city where new characters, probably Gods, will play an integral role in what looks to be the most creative addition to the series yet. It’s also important to note that this DLC will be released episodically, with the first episode called Fields of Elysium.

In the launch trailer, we’re shown some shots of both Assassins fighting enemies within the realm of Atlantis, which appears to be taking on a pseudo role of Paradise and Ruin. Time seems to be literally bending as we see that Atlantis has either fallen, or is about to fall. Obviously this will tie in to the Assassins as they interact with a golden haired woman and a man with bright red eyes, which is a huge indication of their roles as well. Oh yeah, and Cerberus shows up at some point to bark and breathe fire.

Assassins Creed Odyssey has been viewed upon two different ways since it was released late last year. One being that the game has built upon the fighting and stealth mechanics of it’s predecessor and the other is that fans of the older games in the franchise no longer see this as an “Assassins Game” as it has turned more into a fantasy adventure RPG. While both sides have their points, no one can contest the success that Assassins Creed Odyssey has had, with some considering it to be the best game in the series.

Ubisoft is content on continuing this prosperity with this newest expansion, and we won’t have to wait long to find out just how good it is. Assassins Creed Odyssey: The Fate of Atlantis Episode One: Fields of Elysium launches next Tuesday, April 23 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
