Atlus and Spike Chunsoft have teamed up for an Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon crossover title on the Nintendo 3DS.

During a livestream of the Etrian Odyssey 2 remake, Atlus and Spike Chunsoft announced Mystery Dungeon And The World Tree, or as fans would call it, Etrian Odyssey X Mystery Dungeon, since it combines both worlds. Fans are going pretty crazy over the announcement and it looks to be awesome. Sadly however, there is no announcement yet for western audiences. Check out the official site and the trailer below.

Those unfamiliar with Etrian Odyssey series which is a turn based RPG franchise that is usually on the difficult side for some fans, but allows players to go from dungeon to dungeon defeating enemies and traversing in a first-person type of view. Mystery Dungeon is considerably different, and is more recently associated with the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon titles and offers a top down type of view, and is also a RPG.

No word on when Mystery Dungeon And The World Tree might make it to the west but it will release in Japan exclusively on Nintendo 3DS, March 5th, 2015.
