It was revealed a few days ago that Batgirl will be playable in Batman: Arkham Knight’s DLC. It’s now been announced which Batgirl we will be playing as.

In the Batman comics, two notable characters played the role as Batgirl. Batgirl was played by the likes of both Barbara Gordon and Cassie Cain. In the horrible Batman and Robin movie, she was played by Barbara Wilson who was the niece of Alfred. Although lots of Batman fans try to forget that movie ever happened.

Batman: Arkham Knight’s game director, Sefton Hill, announced on Twitter:

As a few of you have asked about the DLC, “who is Batgirl?” I can confirm it is indeed Barbara Gordon.

The Batgirl DLC will be available in the Season Pass and serves as a prequel to Batman: Arkham Knight. Since Barbara Gordon is donning the cape, many people believe Joker will be out there somewhere.

In The Killing Joke comic, Barbara Gordon gets paralyzed by Joker and she becomes Oracle. Oracle has been Batman’s contact in the Arkham games. This could mean this prequel takes place much earlier than the events from Batman: Arkham Knight.

Batman: Arkham Knight releases June 23rd for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
