Battlefield 3 Sees Timed DLC Exclusive on PS3

Today, EA announced that they will be partnering with Sony to give PlayStation 3 gamers exclusive timed content for Battlefield 3 DLC.  Very similar to the deal that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has with the Call of Duty franchise, this latest deal between EA and Sony has Battlefield gamers on the PS3 getting expansion packs on the console one week earlier than anyone else.

While it might not be as long as the one month exclusivity period that Call of Duty sees on the Xbox 360, it’s a nice bonus to own the PS3 version of Battlefield 3.

The exclusive promotion will apply to the Back to Karkand expansion add-on which includes four remastered fan favorite levels from Battlefield 2.  The Limited Edition of Battlefield 3 will net you that content from the get go.  No other details about future DLC was announced by EA at this time, but you can expect Battlefield 3 to see expansions when it launches this October 25th on PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360.
