Bayonetta 3 Could Be Wii U Exclusive Just Like Bayonetta 2

When Bayonetta 2 was first announced, people were surprised it was a Wii U exclusive. They would even be more surprised if Bayonetta 3 were to be a Wii U exclusive as well.

The main reason Bayonetta 3 could be a Wii U exclusive like Bayonetta 2 is because Platinum Games loved working with Nintendo as its publisher. The first Bayonetta game was published by Sega and was only available for the PS3 and Xbox 360. This is why people were surprised since that game wasn’t even available for any Nintendo console.

Speaking with CVG, the game’s developer Yusuke Hashimoto spoke more on Bayonetta 2 and his hopes to make a possible Bayonetta 3. He said he “would love to do it again” if given the opportunity to work with Nintendo for a second time. He also mentioned the team learnt a lot by working with Nintendo.

The main thing Nintendo did was allow Platinum Games the “freedom to create” Bayonetta 2 their own way. It wasn’t just Nintendo bossing them around telling them how Bayonetta 2 should be made. They bounced ideas back and forth and gave back reliable feedback to one another.

Bayonetta 2 launches exclusively for Wii U this October. If the game proves to be a success, we might also see Bayonetta 3 on the Wii U too.
