Two of the major Japanese game developers, Capcom and Bandai Namco, have announced an agreement that will allow both companies to collaborate in future developments with the objective of improving the user experience, reducing development costs, and ultimately, make use of all of their patents to “deliver even more exciting content” in games like Street Fighter.

The announcement seems a little vague on the details, but basically both companies agree to share resources and knowledge to offer better online services and improve the development process of their titles. The most exciting part is probably the mention of making use of each other’s properties, which will likely lead to new guest appearances in form of DLCs, or the development of full crossover games.

Capcom and Bandai Namco had a very good relation even before this agreement made it official. Both companies have worked together in the past making titles like Street Fighter X Tekken, or allowing the appearance of Street Fighter’s Akuma (pictured above) on Tekken 7 , which, going by this announcement, it wouldn’t be surprising if it received more Street Fighter characters in the future. Or it could be that we finally get that promised Tekken X Street Fighter a little sooner.
