Cassie Cage Kicks Her Way into Mortal Kombat 11

As if having that gigantic story trailer wasn’t enough, NetherRealm Studios also unveiled the official gameplay trailer for one of the fighters revealed in some of the cut scenes. Cassie Cage, the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, returns to the fight and it looks like she’s ready to kick even more butt this time around.

Cassie’s first appearance in the series was in the previous entry, Mortal Kombat X. As the commander of the elite Special Forces Unit, Cassie takes after her mother in terms of strategic expertise. However, her fighting style is very much akin to her father’s, using some of his moves such as the Shadow Kick. Cassie also employs the use of different firearms, as well as a unique drone that attacks at her command. Another unique twist is that the drone can be used as a blunt object for Cassie to throw her opponents at.

However, just like her father, her Fatality steals the show. Cassie shoots her opponent multiple times before running up to them, and then kicking them in the crotch so hard that they split in half and their spine/skull lift upwards into the air. If that doesn’t scream showstopper then we don’t know what will. Interestingly enough, we were also shown some of Kano’s move set for the first time, although not nearly as much as Cassie’s’. Cassie Cage is just one of many fighters that were revealed in the story trailer, so don’t be surprised if we get a few more gameplay reveals later on.

Mortal Kombat 11 launches on April 23 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can check out Cassie Cages gameplay trailer here:
