It appears that Wii U owners will not see Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare released this November. Despite the two previous games in the series arriving for Wii U, Sledgehammer Games has confirmed that Activision has decided to focus on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

When asked by a fan whether or not Advanced Warfare would come to Wii U, Michael Condrey of Sledgehammer replied:

“No, no WiiU. That was an Activision decision. We are focused on XboxOne, PS4, and PC,” Condrey said via Twitter.

It’s unclear whether we’ve seen the last of Call of Duty on the Wii U. Despite releasing two decent versions of the game on Nintendo’s new console with Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, we’ve yet to hear anything from Activision as to why they’ve decided to forgo the release this year.

Comments from Ubisoft earlier this week may give us some indication as to why this is the case. Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot revealed that his company would not be publishing mature games on the platform after Watch Dogs.
