‘One of the strangest experiences of my life’: A woman says a hole appeared in her ceiling while she was in the shower. Then she called 911

Katrina, who posts on TikTok as @oofthegoof, shared a video about a night she said began in the shower and ended with officers outside her apartment. In the caption, she wrote, “def one of the strangest experiences of my life lol.” The clip had drawn 2.5 million views.

The video opened on a small hole in a textured ceiling. On-screen text read, “On the phone with 911 bc a mysterious hole came through the ceiling while I was in the shower.” A closer shot appeared to show a projectile lodged in the drywall. She did not say in the clip what the object was.

She then showed her phone screen. It displayed an outgoing call to 911 that the screen indicated had lasted seven minutes and had been placed the previous night at 11:40 p.m. She presented that call as her response to the hole.

The video then cut to the outside of a brick apartment building at night. A man stood near some bushes in a tactical vest labeled “US MARSHALS FUGITIVE TASK FORCE.” On-screen text over that shot read, “Oh ok.”

The camera also showed several officers positioned outside the building. One had “POLICE” on his back. The footage appeared to show weapons raised, which she framed as an active law enforcement operation rather than a routine call.

Katrina then filmed herself on a balcony with wet hair. On-screen text read, “They got snipers here and s–t bro” and “I have conditioner in my hair.” The camera moved up toward the balcony ceiling as an off-screen voice gave instructions, though the words were hard to make out.

She later appeared on the balcony with two other people. That part was captioned, “Family bonding experience.” In another shot, she was alone, and the text said, “We’re still outside, more cops keep coming, I have sugar scrub on my legs lmao.”

The last scene showed her back indoors, still with wet hair. On-screen text read, “Finished my shower and now a lady from the crime scene unit is here taking pictures.” She presented that visit as a sign the investigation was still going. She did not say whether anyone had been arrested, what the hole was, or why the marshals were there. 

Viewers pressed her for a fuller account. One commenter wrote, “No way they did all that because you said a mysterious hole appeared. There’s more to it. Either spill or drink in silence.” Another treated the clip as a reason to leave rental housing. They wrote, “Let this be your sign to get out of those apartments and start owning a home.”

A third commenter tied the hole to a fear of gunfire between units. They wrote, “THIS is why I DO NOT live in apartments!! Someone living above or below can accidentally fire a gun that will either kill you or paralyze you!” Neighbors can also be the source of the damage, as in the case of a Florida man who allegedly used an electric trimmer to carve a hole through his neighbor’s wall. 

Someone else said they could not move on without an answer. They wrote, “katrina if u don’t tell me what it was im never gonna be able to function.” Katrina had not replied in a newer video.
