Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy

Crash Bandicoot Is Already Amazon UK’s Best Selling Game of the Year

Crash Bandicoot is making a smashing return to the charts. The newly released N. Sane Trilogy for PS4 is already listed by Amazon UK as the best selling videogame of the year in the country with only two days of sales. The Activision title would have surpassed the total sales of other big exclusives like Horizon: Zero Dawn or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. While only representative of the sales in the platform, it’s definitely a sign that the game is making a huge impression, and could end up as one of the biggest hits of the year.

The Amazon Best Sellers list features every different edition of a game separately, so for example multiplatform titles like Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands divide their sales between the versions for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It also represents only the games sold through Amazon in the country, so this is just a sample of the game’s performance.

Nonetheless, the impressive result on Amazon is in line with the reports that say that the game is sold out in other big UK retailers like Tesco. In contrast with the Amazon hourly charts, the yearly best sellers list offers a much more accurate description of the sales landscape, since it’s not as affected by isolated surges in popularity.

The game is enjoying a very positive reception in other countries like France, where the game is already in the top 10 of the best selling titles of 2017.

Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy is a remake of the iconic trilogy for the first PlayStation. While the original games were created by Uncharted makers Naughty Dog, this title has been developed by Vicarious Visons for Activision. But the attention to detail on the mechanics has made this a perfect recreation of the classic games, now featuring PS4-level graphics. Our review of N. Sane Trilogy describes it as “a fantastic remake of some of the best platformers of all time.”

The developers seem open to the idea of making a remake of Crash Team Racing if N. Sane Trilogy sells well, so this might be the sign they were waiting for.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is out now for PS4.
