The Crysis franchise made a name for itself on the back of visually stunning entry with the original Crysis. The second game in the franchise made some considerations when it arrived on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but was a good-looking game nonetheless.
With Crysis 3, Crytek is confident that it will be the best “technically” looking game on current-gen consoles, “flat out”.
“No game will ever look technically better than Crysis 3 on these consoles, flat out,” said Crytek’s Cevat Yerli in a recent interview. “Most games are not even anywhere near Crysis 2 technically. I’m not talking about art style–art is subjective–but the pure fact of what we have been cramming in with Crysis 2 on Xbox and PlayStation, I’ve yet to see a game do that still today. That’s why we said that Crysis 3 is next-gen ready already.”
Yerli is obviously confident about what Crysis 3 will be bringing to consoles early next year, and couldn’t get out of the interview without taking a parting shot at Microsoft’s big exclusives.
“Any day I will take a battle against Gears and Halo, whatever, the amount of data we put in and the detail level is far superior,” Yerli said. “With Crysis 3, we’re pushing that to another level, but the PC is just two levels beyond.”
Crysis 3 is set to arrive on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on February 19th.
