Crytek has apparently sold the recently acquired rights to Homefront. Koch Media, parent company of Deep Silver, has announced that they have purchased the Homefront brand and will continue to develop Homefront: The Revolution.

Crytek UK, who had been working on the game for some time, has seen financial troubles as of late. Though they recently announced that they had secured long term funding for stability of the company, it’s likely that the sale of the Homefront IP had something to do with this turn of financial fortunes.

Koch Media has a new studio called Deep Silver Dambuster Studios, and they will be the new shepherds of Homefront: The Revolution. There hasn’t been any announcements of a delay for Homefront: The Revolution as of yet, but with so much turmoil and the change of hands, the game could very well miss its release in 2015.

It was rumored that Crytek purchased the rights to Homefront in 2013 for around $500,000.

Koch Media has been making big strides in gaming in recent years. Dead Island, Saints Row, the Metro Series, and now Homefront, are all being developed under the publisher’s umbrella.
