Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely one of the front-runners for most exciting reveal at E3 2018. CD Projekt RED fans have been waiting years for the reveal of this role playing game, and it was not a disappointment. The trailer itself did not reveal much other than offer a look at the world, but the developer has revealed some new facts about the game.
First and formeost, Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the world of the pen & paper RPG Cyberpunk 2020. The main character of the game is V, who is a gun for hire in Night City. We got a chance to see Night City in the trailer, but it’s described as a dangerous metropolis in a future where corporations rule everything.
Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a character creator that allows players to choose the gender of V. Other options like visual appearance, character class, and character backstory/history can be customized by the player at the start of the game. These customization options, especially background of the character may influence the way that the game takes shape. The game will also feature interactive dialogue that will impact the game in true CD Projekt RPG fashion.
CD Projekt says that there will be “dozens of hours” in the main storyline and there will be plenty of side quests to partake in.
Unfortunately, there’s still no date to look forward to for the release of Cyberpunk 2077. When it does release, it will be on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. With many expecting new consoles within the next two years, it’s probably a safe bet to assume Cyberpunk arrives before then.
