Next year’s Dark Souls 3 could be the last game in the series as the creator wants to move on the make other things.
Gamespot had a chance to interview Hidetaka Miyazaki who is the current President of From Software. He expressed that Dark Souls 3 could be the last game of the franchise.
Miyazaki said “I don’t think it’d be the right choice to continue indefinitely creating Souls and Bloodborne games“. He said the upcoming third game will be closure to the series. It was also mentioned that the rest of the From Software development team feels the same way too.
The main reason for this is because both Miyazaki and many other developers from From Software aggressively want to move on and make new games in the future.
This is a sign that the very hard action-RPG series is ending in 2016 once Dark Souls 3 comes out next April. It is also a sign that there may not be a Bloodborne sequel unless another development teams steps in.
It’s possible Sony would like Bloodborne 2 to be made as the first game was one of the best PS4 exclusives to come out in 2015. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens in the near future.
