Hidetaka Miyazaki recently sat down with 4Gamer for an interview about the upcoming game, Dark Souls. In the interview the director of the game reveals some nice information for those of us that are anticipating the “non sequel to Demon’s Souls” . Â Dark Souls is going to be a 60 hour long experience, compared to it’s predecessor Demon’s Souls which clocked in between 30-40 hours. Â The game has already been reported to be dastardly hard, coming straight from the mouths of the development team. With the game moving to a multiplatform audience you would think that there would be a demo in the works, but in the interview it is confirmed that there are no plans for one at this time.
The developer also spoke on the possibility for downloadable content in Dark Souls, and said there weren’t plans for any currently. Â But noted if there is, it would be “something interesting” Â and likely tied to the online experience. Â What not to expect? Â The developer also said items would not be offered as DLC, claiming that “these are meant to be rewards for discovery and work”.
And on a side note, a developer recently realized what makes video games fun. Â Dark Souls is scheduled for a 2011 release on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
