Dead by Daylight Aims for a Multiplayer Horror Experience

A brand new multiplayer horror-style video game, Dead by Daylight, was announced by Behavior Interactive, the same studio who developed Wet and the Naughty Bear games.  Similar in premise to the Friday the 13th game in development, the title promises to deliver a unique horror experience for multiplayer fans.

Players will be cast as teenagers struggling for survival against a myriad of different styled killers in the vein of old 80s horror movies, featuring asymmetrical gameplay like that in Evolve. Perspective is being touted as the main theme in the developer diary, where players who are placed in the role of the youths play in the third-person, while the killer remains in first-person. Environments are different for each level and will be randomly generated, while weapons and supplies are scattered throughout the map, as the lone murderer wanders.

Dead by Daylight is in early development for the PC, and no actual gameplay or official screenshots have been released besides concept art. I don’t know how a game like this will pan out, although I am very excited by the Friday the 13th game because of the talent behind the project. Hopefully Behavior Interactive can find a way to make the gameplay feel original and not repetitive.
