As Gamescom looms closer within several weeks, announcements from several studios have begun to emerge. Deck 13 and publisher Focus Home Interactive, have revealed that a brand new Sci-fi action RPG title will be shown at Gamescom 2015 in Cologne, Germany. The unnamed title is promised to release sometime in 2017 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

According to VideoGamer, Focus Home Interactive has described the game as having, “innovative combat mechanics and an original character progression system based on modular upgrades gained through tight, visceral combat.” However the company also revealed that no gameplay footage will be released and only shown, “via interviews with some of the core team at the show.”

It was last month when Focus Home teased the upcoming game with an image at Focus-files, showing some man or soldier wielding a strange weapon with a chainsaw attached, with the title to take place in a a dystopian future. Deck 13’s last entry Lords of the Fallen was developed in conjunction with City Interactive and released on October 28th, 2014.

The possibilities are exciting, as I found Lords of the Fallen to be a unique title despite its similarities to the Dark Soul series. Its always great to see new IP’s in development, and this year’s Gamescom is set to be a large one.
