It took a little longer than many would have liked, but fans of the original Demon Gaze can now rest easy, as NIS America has announced at Anime Expo 2017 that Demon Gaze II will be coming to the West in Fall 2017 for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4.

Demon Gaze II is the sequel to Demon Gaze, which helped solidify Experience Inc.’s status as a dungeon RPG developer when it debuted in 2013 with surprising success. Using Demon Gaze’s success as a jumping off point, the developer released other popular titles such as  Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy and Stranger of Sword City. As a result, it was only natural that fans were excited in September 2017 when Demon Gaze II arrived in Japan. Most figured that a sequel to the game which spurred Experience Inc.’s meteoric rise would be an automatic hit and, more importantly, be properly available in the West fairly soon. Such hopes weren’t a stretch either, since the release of Demon Gaze, NIS America has put some serious effort in localizing Experience Inc.’s future titles.

Unfortunately, this didn’t come to pass. Once the game arrived, it wasn’t soon after that Play Asia (to the surprise of many) put up a listing for an Asia region version of Demon Gaze II with English and Chinese subtitles that was due out by March 2017. However, March had come and gone and there was never any Asia region version to speak of. In fact, the page still doesn’t have pre-orders available. Because of this, some started to wonder if Western audiences would ever be able to get their hands on the highly-anticipated sequel.

Thankfully, NIS America has put such fears to rest with its announcement and fans now just have to wait until the publisher opts to give a firm release date. In the meantime, pre-orders are already open for the Limited Edition for both the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4, both of which can be found here.
